A good leader genuinely loves the people who he or she leads. He or she seeks to serve them, to uplift them, and to put them in positions in which they will succeed by doing what comes naturally to them, their actions being an expression of who they truly are. A good leader seeks to connect with the people who he or she leads, to improve his or her relationships with them, and to make their lives better. Good leaders enable those in their organizations to become leaders themselves. They communicate effectively and provide helpful feedback to those they lead—which is to say, to those they serve—thereby helping those they serve find greater and greater success. Good leaders model good behavior. Also, they do not fear failure, since they recognize that failing and learning from failure is part of the process of learning to succeed. Good leaders seek to obtain and act upon more and more wisdom, for they recognize that the path of learning and acting on more and more wisdom is the path of true sustainable prosperity.
