As the owner of a CPA firm, what are 3 strategies I can use to stand out in a crowded market?

Tom is proud to tell people he is a CPA. We’re fortunate to belong to a distinguished profession, and Tom loves the work that we do.

Unfortunately, when it comes to building a practice, it’s not enough to just tell people you’re a CPA. Competition for clients is getting tougher and tougher. We’re competing against large firms that are spending millions of dollars on marketing to attract not just 1040 work but also the same entrepreneur clients that are the heart and soul of our client base.

So, how can we distinguish ourselves and get our name out there in the market? Here are a few strategies that have worked for Tom:

Develop a niche. Find an area where you can specialize and become an expert. By homing in on a particular niche, you can differentiate yourself from other CPAs and attract the right clients who need your unique expertise.

Be authentic. No one else in the world is quite like you, so the more authentically you show up in business as yourself, the more you will stand out.

Deliver exceptional service. If you want your clients to think of you as a valued advisor, you need to deliver that level of service. Reach out to them regularly. Ask them questions and provide proactive advice.

We work in a crowded market. Stand tall as a CPA and show clients and prospects what makes you and your practice rise above the competition. You’ll find you’ll have better clients, a better practice and a better life.
