How often do you meet with your clients?
Tom is a big believer in CPAs scheduling regular “check-in” calls with all their clients.
These meetings don’t need to be lengthy or highly scripted. Instead, use open-ended questions to get your clients to open up about what’s happening in their world. Here are three questions to get things started:
Are you on track toward your goals since we last spoke?
What new things have come up?
What challenges are you facing?
If you listen, you’ll soon find opportunities where you and your practice can help. Then, instead of selling a service, you’ll be solving a problem. You’ll move from being a vendor to being a trusted advisor… maybe even a hero—the type clients rave about to their friends.
